{"id":1548,"date":"2016-10-24T15:50:40","date_gmt":"2016-10-24T15:50:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fondationchaleur.ca\/?p=1548"},"modified":"2019-06-11T07:21:01","modified_gmt":"2019-06-11T07:21:01","slug":"a-unifying-regional-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fondationchaleur.ca\/en\/a-unifying-regional-project\/","title":{"rendered":"A UNIFYING REGIONAL PROJECT"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Tracadie, October 24, 2016<\/strong>\n \u2013 The Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation delivered an update on its \nmajor fundraising campaign \u2013 with a five-year $5 million objective \u2013 at a\n press conference this morning. &nbsp;The Chair of this major campaign, \nRen\u00e9&nbsp;Legacy, and the members of his team were proud to publicly \nintroduce the following donors who have agreed to support the Chaleur \nRegional Hospital\u2019s priority projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The Fondation Les Amis de l\u2019H\u00f4pital de Tracadie Inc. ($100,000);<\/li><li>The Fondation H\u00f4pital de l\u2019Enfant-J\u00e9sus ($100,000);<\/li><li>The Fondation de l\u2019H\u00f4pital de Lam\u00e8que Inc. ($50,000);<\/li><li>MQM Quality Manufacturing Ltd ($50, 000);<\/li><li>St-Isidore Asphalte ($50,000);<\/li><li>Restaurant au P\u2019tit Mousse de Lam\u00e8que ($25,000);<\/li><li>Relais Sport et Sant\u00e9 de St-Isidore ($25,000);<\/li><li>La Fondation communautaire des Pionniers et Pionni\u00e8res Inc. and la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Coop de Lam\u00e8que Lt\u00e9e ($25,000)<\/li><li>Regional Municipality of Tracadie ($10, 000);<\/li><li>Town of Caraquet ($10,000);<\/li><li>Island Fisherman Cooperative Association Ltd ($10,000);<\/li><li>Groupe Belle-\u00cele ($10,000);<\/li><li>Christian Larocque Services &nbsp;($10,000).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Some $475,000 in commitments was \nannounced this morning for a current total of over $3 million raised \nsince the campaign began this spring. &nbsp;\u201cToday\u2019s commitments confirm how \nimportant this project is to the people of ACADIE-BATHURST. It is truly a\n unifying regional project that will impact all our communities. This \nmorning\u2019s announcement motivates us to continue working together for our\n regional hospital,\u201d Mr. Legacy explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patients the focus of our efforts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our patients\u2019 wellness is the focus of \nall the decisions and actions taken to bring this project to fruition. \nNormand Lebouthillier, a resident of Caraquet, agreed to give a moving \ntestimonial explaining the important role that the regional hospital \nplays as a complement to his local facility. &nbsp;\u201cI am one patient among \nthe thousands who can tell you their story today. I needed care about a \nyear ago and am very grateful for the services I received. After we \ncalled 911, I was transported by ambulance on an urgent basis to the \nTracadie-Sheila Hospital where I underwent a scan. I was subsequently \ntransferred to the Intensive Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital \nin the early hours. The specialist and his team were waiting for me and \nthe care that I received was both immediate and appropriate. It took \nthem a week to \u201cput the wheels back on an old car\u201d and get it running \nand back on the road again. This kind of work results from a smoothly \nrunning system in which compassionate care is delivered by well-trained \nand attentive caregivers who are dedicated to their cause, namely that \nof building a healthy world,\u201d Mr.&nbsp;Lebouthillier explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About the Chaleur Regional Hospital construction project<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The money raised during the campaign \nwill supplement the $200 million investment by the provincial \ngovernment. The $5 million fundraising campaign will help modernize our \nregional hospital. In practical terms, this money will go toward \npurchasing modern equipment for four major priority projects, namely \nthe:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Modernization of patient rooms;<\/li><li>Complete restructuring of the Mother\/Child Program;<\/li><li>Expansion and reorganization of the integrated ambulatory care units;<\/li><li>Construction of a new auditorium for knowledge sharing.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>About the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Foundation is a strong partner of \nthe Chaleur Regional Hospital. It acts as a driving force and supports \nthe hospital\u2019s projects that have a significant impact on the quality of\n patient care.
