{"id":1258,"date":"2018-02-21T18:24:41","date_gmt":"2018-02-21T18:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.fondationchaleur.ca\/?p=1258"},"modified":"2019-06-11T07:06:09","modified_gmt":"2019-06-11T07:06:09","slug":"campaign-exceeds-expectations-with-over-5-3-million-raised","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fondationchaleur.ca\/en\/campaign-exceeds-expectations-with-over-5-3-million-raised\/","title":{"rendered":"Campaign exceeds expectations with over $5.3 million raised!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/www-dpk3f.hosts.cx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/photo-officielle-3-1024x460.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>BATHURST, FEBRUARY 21, 2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation held a press conference at the K.C Irving Regional Centre to announce the final result of its Major Fundraising Campaign targeting $5 million over five years. &nbsp;Thanks to the community, which has met the challenge of changing lives, the Foundation raised $5,386,691 to improve health care services for the Acadie-Bathurst population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ren\u00e9 Legacy, Chair of the Major Fundraising Campaign and his team members proudly presented the final result of the campaign and took the opportunity to thank the volunteers and donors who made the campaign a success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are all very proud of the commitment shown by businesses, organizations and the community in general. This campaign has been a real success because it has brought the region together and it will also benefit future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Ren\u00e9 Legacy, Chair of the Major Fundraising Campaign<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reception organizers took the opportunity to thank the campaign committee members for their stunning success. These members include Ren\u00e9 Legacy, Chair; Jennifer Henry, Chair of the Family Committee; Daryll Stothart, Ian Hatheway, Roger Clinch, Dr. John LeBlanc and St\u00e9phane Legacy, all members of the Major Donation Committee; the Co-Chairs of the Local Campaign, L\u00e9o LeBlanc and Ed McDermaid; and the Co-Chairs of the Community Campaign, Silvana Bosca and Jean Allain. From the outset of 2016 campaign, these people were unflagging in their efforts to raise the community\u2019s awareness of the benefits of this modernization project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of patients, I wish to thank our volunteers for their commitment and our donors for their generosity. I invite you to think about people like me \u2013 people who are living proof that your past generosity has changed lives. We all know someone who has needed our regional hospital\u2019s health care services and we have all seen how important it is to be able to access these services close to home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Sandra Pitre, cancer survivor<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The money raised in the course of the campaign will be added to the over $200 million being provided by the provincial government. This partnership will help modernize our regional hospital and purchase cutting-edge technology in support of four major projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Modernization of patient rooms;<\/li><li>Complete restructuring of the Mother-Child Program;<\/li><li>Expansion and reorganization of the integrated ambulatory care units;<\/li><li>Construction of a new auditorium for knowledge sharing.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYour government is extremely proud of the work done by the dedicated volunteers of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation and we wish to offer our congratulations on reaching the goal of this campaign. Money raised by hospital foundations is essential to improving health-care and the quality of life for all New Brunswickers. We look forward to continued collaboration with the foundation as we work to secure and enhance health-care for all of our residents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Beno\u00eet Bourque, Minister of Health<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vitalit\u00e9 Health Network is also extremely pleased with the outcome of this partnership with the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation. The work is progressing well and the official opening of the expansion is planned for 2021. At that point, the renovation work will begin, with completion planned for 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe generosity of donors and the considerable work of volunteers in this campaign certainly deserve to be acknowledged and applauded.
