The Northern Star lights up: a gesture of solidarity supported by nine hospital foundations and UNI Financial Cooperation

BATHURST, November 27 2025 — Last night, the nine hospital foundations responsible for the Northern Star campaign lit up this symbol of solidarity and commitment to patients,
families, and healthcare professionals in our hospitals.

The official lighting ceremony brought together donors, families, volunteers, and partners, including UNI Financial Cooperation, a loyal partner since the campaign’s inception.

The nine foundations organizing the campaign

The Northern Star campaign is being run jointly by:

• Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation (Bathurst);
• Fondation Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus Inc. (Caraquet);
• Foundation of the Friends of the Grand Falls General Hospital Inc. (Grand Falls);
• Edmundston Regional Hospital Foundation (Edmundston);
• Lamèque Hospital and CHC Foundation (Lamèque);
• Friends of Healthcare Foundation (Campbellton);
• Fondation Dr Romaric Boulay (Saint-Quentin);
• The Friends of the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Foundation (Sainte-Anne-de-Kent);
• Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie (Tracadie).

These nine foundations are joining forces to send a united message:

« Together, we shine a light on our commitment to quality healthcare and improving well-being in each of our communities. »

A long-standing partner: UNI Financial Cooperation

Since the first edition, UNI has supported the Northern Star campaign and actively contributed to its success. Once again this year, the organization is reaffirming its
commitment to foundations and patients in the region.

« At UNI, we firmly believe in the power of solidarity. Supporting the Northern Star means supporting accessible, humane healthcare adapted to the needs of our communities. We
are proud to have been partners in this initiative since the very beginning. » adds Éric St-Pierre, Chief Executive Officer of UNI Financial Cooperation.

A campaign that directly benefits patients

The donations collected will support the acquisition of essential medical equipment, meeting the priorities of the hospitals supported by the nine foundations. These investments contribute directly to improving the quality and safety of care.

The campaign continues until December 31

The public is invited to continue this spirit of solidarity by purchasing a mini Northern Star tree at one of the participating points of sale. Each mini tree purchased supports the improvement of healthcare in our communities.
